They have elevated tight end Erik Swoope (again) and waived tight end Mo-Alie Cox. In total, Swoope has played in 29 games with the Colts and they have been pretty patient with him in hopes that he could adapt his basketball frame to become a solid pass catching tight end. With Jack Doyle out and T.Y. Hilton also likely missing Thursday night against the Patriots with a hamstring and chest injury, Swoope will have a chance to make an impact in the passing game and prove he deserves a more permanent residence on the depth chart. With the way Reich’s offense distributes the ball, there will almost assuredly be opportunities, Swoope just needs to take advantage of them.
